Brief Profile

 

Luqman Olayaki is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin. His area of research includes the study of antioxidant agents (especially melatonin), medicinal plants and environmental agents on the endocrine (mainly diabetes mellitus) and reproductive systems. He bagged his MB;BS degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1998, and proceeded to the University of Lagos, Lagos where he obtained his M.Sc. in Reproductive Physiology in 2004. Olayaki was granted University Staff Development Award to undertake his doctoral training in the University of Ilorin, Ilorin and obtained the Ph.D. degree in 2011. He has served the University of Ilorin in various capacities such as the Sub-Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, 2006-2012, Head, Department of Physiology, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin 2012-2014 etc. Olayaki had a stint in tissue culture training at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Ulster University, Coleraine, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
