Brief Profile

Olujide Olubiyi currently holds a faculty position at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti. His research interest includes molecular mechanism of the biological actions of small compounds, structure-based and computer-aided drug design, medicinal chemistry, and the structural basis of allosteric inhibition. Olujide received a bachelor of pharmacy degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2006 after which he proceeded to two federal tertiary hospitals where he gained clinical experience in the use of drugs. In 2008 he was awarded the Commonwealth Scholarships  to undertake a Master in Drug Discovery degree from the London School of Pharmacy, now School of Pharmacy, University College London. On completing his master education in the United Kingdom he  proceeded to Germany for a doctoral training in Alzheimer's disease drug design, awarded  by the RWTH Aachen. He would later do a postdoctoral research work at the Forschungszentrum Julich, Germany in 2013
